2012 Melbourne Cup Carnival
Pre register now for 2012The French connection have done it again and taken home the Emirates Melbourne Cup for the 2nd year running. This time it wasn't the race favourite Americain taking back-to-back honours, but the Geelong Cup winner and 2nd favourite, Dunedan ridden superbly by Christophe Lemaire, which nosed out outsider Red Cadeaux in the closest finish of the 151 years for this race.
A crowd of over 100,000 flocked to Flemington for the "race that stops the nation" and they were treated to a great day of racing culminating in a nail biting finish to the big race.
Other big winners during the Carnival included Sangster in the AAMI Derby, Niwot in the Lexus Stakes, Atlantic Jewel in the Wakeful Stakes and Sepoy in the Coolmore Stud Stakes.
With the Crown Oaks and Emirates Stakes Days still to come, this Carnival is sure to throw up plenty of more great winners, close finishes and hard luck stories.
Our Packages
Our packages to the 2011 Melbourne Cup Carnival gave the clients the option to attend any of the big days during the week individually or package them together for an extended stay.
All packages included accommodation in centrally located Melbourne hotels, breakfast daily and either a reserved grandstand seat or hospitality pass for their chosen race days.
Getting There
Package prices do not include flights to Melbourne. As the price of domestic flights fluctuate based on availability, we encourage you to book early. If you would like to include flights as part of the package, inquire with our consultants at the time of booking.
Public transport is highly recommended for transfers to and from Flemington Racecourse. With a train stop located right out the front gates of the racecourse and numerous trams and taxis available, these modes of transport are the easiest option on Emirates Melbourne Cup Day.
