2012 State of Origin - Pre Register
Pre register now for 2012Dates for the 2012 State of Origin Series are as follows and our packages for Game 1 in Melbourne have now been released;
Game 1: Wednesday 23rd May in Melbourne
Game 2: Wednesday 13th June in Sydney
Game 3: Wednesday 4th July in Brisbane
In the 2011 Series, Queensland claimed their 6th straight Origin title following their 34-24 victory in Game 3 to give legend Darren Lockyer the perfect send off in his farewell Origin match. Four tries to two in the first half set up the win and sparked huge celebrations in Brisbane.
In Game 1 QLD yet again gained the upper hand with a hard fought 16-12 victory at Brisbane's Suncorp Stadium on May 25. NSW hit the front with 10 minutes to go, but QLD scored straight away through Billy Slater to take the momentum into Game 2.
NSW then hit back stunning QLD in Game 2 at ANZ Stadium winning a great encounter 18-8. Led by captain Paul Gallen, the Blues took the lead thanks to tries from Hopoate and Lewis and then the icing on the cake came with a try in the dying minutes to Minichiello to level the series at 1-1.
Our Packages
Our packages to the Brisbane matches in the 2011 Harvey Norman State of Origin Series included two nights accommodation staying at a range of Brisbane hotels and a reserved seat to the big clash at Suncorp Stadium.
For the New South Wales match, our packages included one night accommodation staying at a range of Sydney hotels and a reserved seat to the big clash at ANZ Stadium.
Prices for the Brisbane matches started from just $425 per person and in Sydney prices started from just $299pp. Extra nights, single prices and domestic flights are available on request.
Match Tickets
The tickets included in our packages are sourced directly through the Queensland Rugby League and National Rugby League and rated as Category 1 seating.
Tickets to matches at Suncorp Stadium generally sell out extremely quickly so booking your place early is recommended.
About State of Origin
This is League's greatest rivalry and is only played between New South Wales and Queensland. Competition between the two states dates back as early as 1908, but the current best of three format was introduced in 1982.
Even though the Maroons have dominated recent years by winning five series in a row, they only lead the Blues by 17-12 wins overall.
For some fans this is the pinnacle of the sport and counts for more than international fixtures do. This is backed up by the huge crowds that turn out each year to watch the two teams go to war. The 2011 Series saw over 180,000 fans witness the action at both the ANZ and Suncorp Stadiums.
Getting There
Package prices do not include flights to Brisbane or Sydney. As the price of domestic flights fluctuate based on availability, we encourage you to book early. If you would like to include flights as part of your package, enquire with our team at the time of booking.
Getting to Suncorp Stadium and ANZ Stadium is a breeze from our hotels. The recommended way of getting there is by public transport.
