In 2011, three Aussies came close to breaking our US Masters hoodoo falling just short on the final day. Jason Day and Adam Scott played extraordinary golf to finish on 12 under, two shots behind first time winner Charl Schwartzel, who birdied the last four holes on the famous Augusta Course. Geoff Ogilvy rounded out a great week from the Aussies finishing joint fourth with Tiger Woods and Luke Donald.

About the US Masters
The Masters is one of the four major championships in professional golf and is always scheduled to be the first played each year. As it is an invitational event, the field of players is usually smaller than those of the other major championships.
Held at Augusta National Golf Course, this tournament follows many traditions including the winner receiving a green jacket, a champions dinner held on the Tuesday before the start of the first round, and a legendary golfer hitting an honorary tee shot on the morning of the first round.
Only the world's best players have won the green jacket here with Jack Nicklaus leading the way winning a record 6 times. He is followed by Arnold Palmer and Tiger Woods on 4 victories each, with Sam Snead, Gary Player, Nick Faldo and Phil Mickelson all claiming 3 championships apiece.
