Home to white sandy beaches including the Copacabana, enchanting old colonial towns, Christ the Redeemer statue, dancing, partying and, of course, one of the world's greatest football teams - Brazil is an inspired choice to host the event in 2014. It will have been 64 years since Brazil last hosted this event, which culminated in over 200,000 people attending the 1950 final played at the famous Maracana Stadium where Brazil lost to Uruguay.
