Australian Sports Tours are proud to offer golfing enthusiasts the opportunity to attend the world’s oldest golfing championship, The British Open, as it celebrates its 150th year, this time at the home of golf – St Andrews. Legend of the sport, Tom Watson nearly pulled off a miraculous victory in the 2009 Open at Birkdale when he led until the final play-off hole only to be defeated by American Stewart Cink who claimed his first major in the process. The last time St Andrews played host to the Open, Tiger Woods dominated play throughout the four days to run out a 5 shot winner over Colin Montgomerie, while Australia’s Geoff Ogilvy finished in a tie for fifth a further two shots back. Tiger has displayed a distinct liking for this course as he showed by winning The Open on his first visit in 2000.
Don’t miss out on your chance to experience all the fascinating action that will lead to another player being crowned The Open Champion!
