Tuesday July 15th 2008 Depart Australia
Depart locally from Australian Capital Cities on your economy class fare to Manchester.
Wednesday July 16th 2008 Arrive Manchester
You will be greeted by your AST tour leader and transferred to your hotel in Liverpool where you will be based for the duration of the 2008 British Open. Tonight is at your leisure to relax and recuperate after your flight.
Thursday July 17th – Sunday July 20th 2008 British Open – Championship Days
Each morning after breakfast we transfer to Royal Birkdale Golf Course in Southport for the days championship rounds. After each days play we will transfer back to Liverpool. Throughout these four days you will experience the ultimate in golfing viewing. Emotions will be running high as this sought after prize is fought for and won. Follow the fortunes of the Australian contingent and the world’s best golfers as they fight to take home The Claret Jug.
The night of the 19th July we will gather for a “Welcome Dinner” which will allow us to relive some of the great golfing highlights from the first three days play and also determine who will win The Open Championship.

Monday July 21st 2008 Liverpool Sightseeing, Liverpool - London
This morning we will take part in a tour of Liverpool, the city crowned European Capital of Culture for 2008.
We will visit the city's 'Cultural Quarter', which includes many famous buildings including William Brown Library, Walker Art Gallery and World Museum Liverpool. We will also have an opportunity to visit Liverpool’s historic dock, which houses the Maritime Museum and the Beatles Story, a unique attraction that shows the life and history of the famous band. This afternoon we will depart Liverpool and travel to London where upon arrival we will check into our accommodation where the night is at your leisure.
Tuesday July 22nd 2008 London Sightseeing
This morning following breakfast, we will embark on a full day tour of London where we will get to see many of the cities famous historical sites, such as Big Ben, St Paul’s Cathedral, Westminster Abbey and the home of the Royal Family, Buckingham Palace. We will also have the opportunity to visit a selection of some of the many museums and galleries located in the city. Upon returning to our accommodation the evening is then at your leisure to visit some of the city’s many bars and restaurants or enjoy the lively nightlife.

Wednesday July 23rd 2008 London Free Day
Today is for you to enjoy as you please. You may like to spend more time at the sites we visited the previous day or you might choose to further explore the city. You could view some of the many theatre shows on offer or visit Piccadilly Circus, the London Zoo, Aquarium or the Royal Botanic Gardens. If time permits, two famous traditions you might like to view are the Changing the Guard or the Ceremony of the Keys. Whatever your interests are, there is plenty on offer to choose from in this great city.
Thursday July 24th 2008 Return home
It will be mixed emotions this morning as we say goodbye to new friends after an unforgettable holiday experience. After being transferred to London Heathrow Airport, we board our flight home to our various capital cities. |
