Train
The best way to get to Flemington Racecourse is by train. Trains depart frequently from Flinders St (Platform 8 and 9) and stop at Spencer St (Platform 14) and North Melbourne (Platform 6). The train terminates around 15 minutes later at the Racecourse platform, which is located at the main entrance to Flemington racecourse. |

Tram
The No.57 tram leaves from Elizabeth St (Elizabeth and Flinders Streets T- Junction) and stops just outside the Racecourse. Patrons should alight at Stop 30 outside Gate-D Entrance and catch the shuttle bus through the Car Park to the Racecourse turnstiles. |

Car
Very heavy traffic conditions can be expected during the Melbourne Cup Carnival. It is recommended to approach Flemington Racecourse via the following three routes:
Route 1: Eastern Freeway, Alexandra Parade, Nicholson Street (or Princess Street, Lygon Street), Brunswick Road, Union Road, Epsom Road, Smithfield Road.
Route 2: City Link (north bound), Footscray Road, Whitehall Street, Barkly Street, Moore Street, Ballarat Street, Smithfield Road or Ballarat Road, Fisher Parade, Langs Road.
Route 3: City Link (south bound), Dynon Road, Kensington Road, Hobsons Road or Epsom Road, Smithfield Road.
Car Parking
Limited car parking is available for $10 at the Showground Car Park (via main entrance from Epsom Rd or Gate 4 from Leonard Cres.) and Centre Car Park (via Gate A, off Smithfield Road). All occupants in each car must pay Racecourse admission on entrance to the Centre Car Park. A shuttle bus service operates within both Car Parks to transport race patrons to within a short distance of the public turnstiles. Both car parks have limited spaces available and patrons are strongly advised to catch the train.
On each day of the Carnival, after 3.50pm, (excluding Gate 'B') - all entrances from Epsom and Smithfield Roads will be closed to incoming traffic (except emergency vehicles). |

Taxis
(Please Note: Taxis WILL NOT be permitted down the Members’ Drive or Flemington Drive via Gate D)
Patrons in Taxis or Hire Cars may only enter the racecourse from:
• Epsom Road via Gate B and proceed along the service road to allow passengers to disembark outside the main turnstiles.
• Leonard Crescent via Gate E at rear of the Hill Stand.
• There will be no Taxi access via the Showgrounds. |
