Hello Cricket Fans,

Sam and I are about to return home after visiting the scene of Australia’s most recent World Cup victory, the West Indies! It is great to be back here with memories of all those fantastic victories flooding back, and the thought of our upcoming Tours here midyear (and escaping our winter at home!), is keeping everyone in our office here very excited at the moment.

This trip is fine tuning for our tours which take place here in a few months. Starting from our very first day flying out with our tour airlines, Qantas and American Airlines, through to inspecting all hotels, meeting with ground handlers, experiencing the sightseeing, and selecting the seats for all featured cricket matches first hand. Keeping in constant contact with the West Indies Cricket Board, all Airlines and our featured hotels will ensure your trip is a smooth and enjoyable one. Even though this trip is 99.9% business we still managed to enjoy some of the local activities, from NBA basketball in the US, beach cricket on each island, sampling many Caribbean buffets and also fitting in a great round of golf in at the picturesque Royal St Kitts (pictured right) – where by the way I’m undefeated for any tour members out there!

Looking back on this trip, I would say that the Caribbean has the most avid and knowledgeable cricket lovers in the world – maybe not as fanatical as the sub-continent, but in that relaxed and laid back manner we all know these great people by. Each island differs from the next, but their love for cricket remains the same throughout. The surprising thing was that the Australian team was nearly just as popular! I’ll never forget speaking with a groundsman at the Arnos Vale Ground in St Vincent - Sam asked him who his favourite Australian Cricketers were and he responded with Carl Rackemann and Mike Whitney – where else in the world would you get an answer like that?

Cricket and the Caribbean (and probably Rum and Chicken for that matter) go hand in hand. You are going to love your time here and the people will love having you here as well.

See you in the Windies!

Simon and Sam
