VISITORS CAN EXPECT
Covering some 750 000 square kilometers, with an immense wilderness embracing 19 national parks, both the Zaire and Zambezi Rivers have their source in Zambia, the latter flowing through the world famous Victoria Falls and Lake Kariba, en route to the Indian Ocean. Livingstone is the Zambian point of access to Victoria Falls.

CHOBE NATIONAL PARK
Stretching from the border at the Chobe River, to the now dry Savute Channel, and beyond to the borders of the Moremi Wildlife Reserve / Okavango Delta, Chobe National Park has one of the greatest concentrations of game found on the African continent. The Park is best known for its thriving elephant population – some 120,000 individuals, along with good numbers of buffalo, antelope and predators. Birding is also excellent, with many migrants visiting from November to March.

OTHER INFORMATION
There are three climatic seasons, November to March is hot with thunderstorms, April to July has dry warm days, cold nights and early morning and August to October is dry – warm to hot, especially in October. English is widely spoken and the unit of currency is the Kwatcha, although credit cards and most foreign currencies are accepted in the Livingstone area. An airport tax of USD 20 payable in cash is levied on international departures. Malaria prophylaxis is recommended.
