Argentina Football Tour 2025
Join us in Argentina & Uruguay!
Here it is, your chance to see the toughest league in South America, the Argentine Liga Profesional de Fútbol!
The tour takes in two weekends of Argentina’s top division fixtures, six matches in all including the Superclasico - Boca Juniors v River Plate! In between we spend two visiting Colonia & Montevideo in Uruguay, visit a traditional Argentinian cattle ranch and an evening of classical Tango.
Tour Details
Timings for each weekend’s fixtures will be announced ahead of the tour. We will be based in Buenos Aires each weekend to attend matches on each Friday, Saturday and Sunday. During the week the tour travels to historic Colonia del Sacramento & Montevideo in Uruguay.Our tour includes:
- Official tickets to six Argentine Primera División matches including Boca Juniors v River Plate

Argentine Liga Profesional de Fútbol
This year Argentinian club football underwent a restructuring and now runs as two tournaments, the Torneo Apertura in January-June and the Torneo Clausura in July-December. Argentina’s top 30 clubs have been separated into two groups who play a round-robin format ahead of play-offs between the top 16 teams.We will be there for the closing stages of the round-robin section of the Torneo Clausura where teams will be vying for final qualification for the knock-out stage.
Buenos Aires
While in Buenos Aires we enjoy a city tour featuring the city’s cultural and historic highlights including the Teatro Colón, Plaza de Mayo, the Metropolitan Cathedral, Avenida de Mayo and the Palace of Congress. We will visit the iconic Buenos Aires neighbourhoods of Palermo, Recoleta and colonial San Telmo before heading on to Puerto Madero, the most modern district in the capital.We then continue on to La Boca, home to the city’s Italian migrant community famous for its Caminito street and La Bombonera, Boca Juniors’ home stadium. We enjoy a stadium tour Argentina’s soccer Mecca and will learn all about the country’s most popular and successful club before taking in the panoramic view from the south stand.
Uruguay
During the week we spend two nights in neighbouring Uruguay, located an hour’s ferry ride across the Rio de la Plata. The capital Montevideo is the birthplace of tango and is known for its candombe and murga musical styles and museums including the National Historical Museum, the Torres García Museum, the Gurvich Museum and the National Museum of Visual Arts. Montevideo is a city with plenty of green spaces, leisure options and charming colonial architecture.Colonia del Sacramento was founded by the Portuguese in 1680 and occupied a strategic position between Portuguese and Spanish South America. Today the historic city centre is a World Heritage-listed site and is perfect for a few hours of wandering back in time!
We will also visit Uruguay’s Museo del Futbol located at the Estadio Centenario, host of the first ever FIFA World Cup final and the venue for the opening match of FIFA World Cup 2030!

Thursday 30 October - Welcome to Buenos Aires!
An arrival airport transfer is included in the tour, once booked please send us your flight details. Check-in will be available from 3pm and luggage can be left at the hotel if you arrive before your room is ready. Full pre-departure tour details will be sent four weeks before the tour.
This evening our tour guide will be on hand with recommendations for evening activities.

Friday 31 October - Match Day 1
Our Argentinian football experience gets underway today with the first of our four included matches. Once the weekend’s match schedule is finalised we will have details on each day’s matches.
We will be attending the River Plate v Gimnasia La Plata plus two other fixtures to be determined over the weekend. Match tickets and transfers are included for each game.

Our Argentinian football experience gets underway today with the first of our four included matches. Once the weekend’s match schedule is finalised we will have details on each day’s matches. We will be attending the River Plate v Gimnasia La Plata plus another fixture to be determined this weekend.
Match tickets and transfers are included. This evening we’ll explore more of the highlights of the Argentinian capital.

Monday 3 November - Buenos Aires City Tour & Boca Juniors Stadium

Tuesday 4 November - Uruguay & Colonia del Sacramento
Today is the first of our two days & nights in Uruguay, located an hour’s ferry ride across the Rio de la Plata from Buenos Aires. First, we will take a tour of historic Colonia before lunch and continuing on to the national capital, Montevideo.

Wednesday 5 November - Montevideo

This afternoon we take a tour of the Museo del Futbol located at the Estadio Centenario, host of the first ever FIFA World Cup final and the venue for the opening match of FIFA World Cup 2030!

Thursday 6 November - Buenos Aires Dinner & Tango Show
Today we return to Buenos Aires ahead of this weekend’s matches.
This evening we will enjoy a traditional Argentinian dinner and Tango performance. The show covers the history of Buenos Aires’ most iconic musical tradition from the 1920s to the modern age of composer Astor Piazzolla. While enjoying the show we’ll get stuck into a three-course dinner with wine.

Friday 7 November - Pampas Santa Susana Ranch & Match Day 4
Beef is one of the building blocks of the modern Argentinian economy and today we will visit a traditional cattle ranch. Santa Susana Ranch was established in the late 19th century by Irish immigrant Francisco Kelly. This 1,200-hectare ranch features a chapel and museum and continues its agricultural operations while also hosting visiting tourists.
Options on offer at the ranch include horse and carriage riding and a horse wrangling demonstration. We’ll conclude our visit with a traditional homemade lunch accompanied by fine Argentine wine and a folk music and dance show.
This evening we will attend the first of the weekend’s matches, details will be announced as soon as the match schedule is finalised.

Once again, as soon as the weekend’s match schedule is finalised we will have details on each day’s matches.
The big match this weekend is the Superclasico Boca Juniors v River Plate derby. We will also attend two other fixtures to be determined over the weekend. Match tickets and transfers are included for each game.
